Teachers’ Day 2025: My Teacher, My Hero

This year, Damai Secondary celebrated Teachers’ Day with the theme “My Teacher, My Hero.” To honour our teachers, every staff member received a customised superhero tote bag, a symbol of their strength, dedication and the inspiration they bring into students’ lives. Alongside this, students contributed to a Thank You Journal and wrote heartfelt cards, each message a reminder of the lasting impact teachers have on their journeys.

The celebration continued with a concert consisting of student-initiated performances that filled the hall with music, energy and creativity. The grand highlight was the finals of the Damai Spotlight competition, where the acoustic band, The Serenades, featuring Magarett, Benneth, Issac and Jayden, took the top prize with their soulful performance.

In a touching moment, the staff came together for a cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the heroes who shape lives daily with patience and passion.

The second part of the day saw students and teachers retreat to their classrooms for class parties, filled with laughter, games and joyful bonding.

During the staff lunch, our teachers enjoyed a Netflix-inspired afternoon of fun, mystery and friendly competition. Teachers arrived dressed as iconic characters from their favourite shows, from Squid Game to Emerald Hill. It was truly a celebration worth streaming.
